Sarah Benitez, Director of Media
Sarah has been an active member here for many years.  She is gifted in the area of art and media software.  She is also active in ladies’ Bible study and the Bible Journaling Core Group as well as our ladies’ craft days.  She has been on the leadership team for Vacation Bible School for a number of years and served as a teen helper at VBS in prior years.  She may be reached at  
Tanner and his wife, Hannah, joined our staff in 2018 and are excited to be a part of the family here.  Tanner graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Community Leadership. He was involved with a campus ministry called the Navigators where he invested in the lives of students, led young men’s Bible studies and was trained in discipleship.  He recently spent a year in Taiwan teaching English, developing friendships and sharing the love of Jesus with the people.  You can contact Tanner at
Margy along with her husband Gus and their children Elizabeth and Matthew have been a part of the church @ Myrtle Lake since 2005. Gus is an ordained Deacon and serves in various ministry roles and leadership. Margy serves also as the leader for our Worship KidStyle Sunday morning worship. Their daughter, Elizabeth, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and practices in a Tampa area hospital. Their son, Matthew, is a graduate of the University of Florida and is entering a career in the criminal justice system.  You can contact Margy at
Jo Anne Shaffer, Executive Assistant, Worship Pastor;  Women’s Ministries Director; Financial Secretary
Jo Anne, Ken and their daughters Carrie and Kristin have been members of the church @ Myrtle Lake since 2008.  Jo Anne is an active member of our choir and serves on our Sunday morning Praise Teams.  She is also active in ladies Bible studies, and helps to head our crafting group.  Ken serves as a Deacon, plays drums in the worship band and teaches Adult Bible Study. Carrie is active in the church and serves as Assistant to the Director of Next Generation Ministries.  Kristin is busy working on a double major at Lee University.  You can contact Jo Anne at


Carrie Shaffer, Assistant to the Director of Next Generation Ministries
Carrie has been an active member of Student Ministries since 2008.  Since graduation, she has served as a leader in Student Ministries.  In 2017 she became the Director of Student Ministries and has recently been made the Assistant to the Director of Next Generation Ministries.  She is also active in childcare at the church, ladies’ Bible studies, the Bible Journaling Core Group and as the teacher on Sunday mornings in the First, Second and Third Grade Bible study class.  You may even catch her singing in the choir or on a Praise team on any given Sunday morning.  Carrie may  be contacted at
Ken Shaffer, Director of Discipleship 
Ken is an active Deacon and plays drums in the worship band.  He also teaches Adult Bible Study.  He is pursuing a Master of Dvinity in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University.  He believes that all Christians should have the basic ability to defend their faith and wishes to teach that.
